Spiritual Motivation Method (SMM) To Rehabilitate Drug Addicts
By Professor Dr. Othman Hamoud Al-Khidr, Department of Psychology, Kuwait University
Despite the fact that many books have been written on addiction and billions of dollars spent on treatment programs, the relapse rate remains soaring at over 90%.
This book, authored by Professor Dr. Othman Hamoud Al-Khidr of Kuwait University, introduces the “Spiritual Motivation Method” (SMM) to provide a unique and unprecedented methodology that addresses this gap for both academics and practitioners. The authenticity of this approach lies in how it perceives, diagnoses, and treats addiction by targeting the very roots of relapse—specifically the weak will and fragile determination of addicts which existing therapies often fail to reinforce.
By emphasizing a spiritual approach and providing scientific evidence of its efficacy, the SMM pledges to reduce relapse rates from 90% to a mere 20%. Through years of experience and practice, the program demonstrates that faith-based stimulation provides the necessary spiritual nourishment to remedy the heart, allowing addicts to heal entirely from this plague and successfully restore their roles as good citizens in society.
